Glass Kits

The Projects:

There are a variety of projects to choose from on our kits page. You choose the colours and the design you want. Each project comes with an instructional video and written instructions. You also have kit creator and instructor Jennifer via email, phone or text if you have questions along the way. If you have a project in mind that is different from what we have listed send an email describing what you have in mind and we will work to customize it.

The Kits:

Each kit is hand selected based on your special requests. In the checkout process you will have the opportunity to request favourite colours and note any other preferences. If you don’t see the project you are looking for please send an email and Jennifer will look into customizing one of the kits for you.

Your kit will include a clear base glass to add your design to. There will be a selection of different kinds of glass- some that can be cut or chopped and some that can be sprinkled or placed. Special glues are included to set your glass in place so it won’t move in transport. Tools for cutting and breaking the glass are included as well as a spoon and tweezers for placing glass that doesn’t need to me cut. A durable work mat is also included to protect your table. There will also be items included that are specific to the project you choose.

Your kit is on loan for four days.

The Studio:

Address: 131 Loretta Avenue North, Ottawa, ONT K1Y 2J7

Kits can be picked up and delivered at the studio by appointment. You can also choose to have them delivered and picked up for a fee.

Once your project is returned to the studio it is carefully placed in our kiln. Depending on the project it may go in and out of the kiln more than once. The glass is heated to temperatures ranging from 740-800 Celsius. Once at room temperature your glass is carefully assembled, depending on the project, and packaged for you.
