In 2007, while planning our own wedding, Scott & I realized how hard it was to find certain things in the Ottawa market. In particular, I desperately wanted a photobooth at our wedding. I quickly noticed that Ottawa is in a unique position, it seems to often get missed because it is between the larger Montreal and Toronto centres. There was no supplier in Ottawa who could get me my photobooth, companies in Montreal had limited options in terms of deliveries and product, and no one in Toronto would travel. The closest option ended up being in upstate New York (which then got stuck at the border the day of our wedding). 

We ended up taking the money we had been gifted at our wedding and purchased our first photobooth, thinking that we couldn't be the only people in Ottawa who wanted access to these type of services.

Our first client wanted a photobooth and chair covers, so we thought, "Why not! let's buy some chair covers!" We started with white and black thinking that would be sufficient, then the next client wanted ivory and things snowballed. 

We started out small, running the business part-time out of our living room, acquiring product as we needed for clients. As our product base grew, our house seemed to shrink, and after about a year and a half of operating from our home, transforming our living room to a show room and hosting client meetings amidst our newborn son's schedule and puppy, we eventually took the leap and rented warehouse space. We were a team of three people praying we weren't making a huge mistake.

Our first warehouse was only 2000 square feet and we thought it was cavernous. Within 2 years we were overflowing and moved to our current location in Kanata North. We had 8000 square feet and have since doubled that. From starting with just our family we now have a staff of 15 people, providing products to hundred of events each week. We have grown from providing only photobooths to providing day to day linens for hotels, restaurants, colleges and event sites, as well as customized strategic event design for tradeshows, conferences and client events.

After four years of building up the company, I took the plunge and started running the business full-time. I left my job at the Ottawa Hospital as their internal event planner as it was obvious that this little "side project" had become an all-or-nothing gig, and six months later my husband joined the team full-time, leaving his job with the Federal Government - we were all in. Our growing family needed this and we were going to put in the work to support them.

It has been a remarkable journey with many zig and zags and no end in sight. We have met wonderful people who we now consider life-long friends, We have been challenged, we have failed, we have picked ourselves up and learned from it and become better. There is no road map but we keep looking to the future and pushing forward.

Our business is our third child and we are beyond proud of what we have created since 2007.
